Emma Kirk
Emma completed her master’s degree in landscape architecture at the University of Guelph in 2021. Throughout her studies she worked as a Landscape Designer at a residential design-build firm in the GTA. This position allowed her to gain experience in concept development, construction documentation, and site supervision. Her dissertation research was rooted in stormwater management, where she utilized GIS to map and develop a catalogue of greenspaces across the Don Valley watershed to plan for SuDS development and flood mitigation. She was awarded the ASLA Honor Award in 2021 for her academic achievement, design competence, and interpersonal skills.
In 2021 Emma moved to London (UK) where she worked as a Landscape Architect focusing on historic parks, master planning, green infrastructure strategies, play design, stormwater management schemes, and memorial projects. She also has extensive experience in public engagement and co-design methods. Her aim is to deliver community centered designs, ensuring the end users of the landscape are considered in every step of the process. She enjoys the challenge of negotiating balance between competing factors in design and ultimately coming up with a cohesive solution. Emma joined the Adesso team in February 2025.
